  I don't get it...a jw & ebay thing

  let me just start by saying...i sell on ebay.. when people are buying things from me, i sometimes click on their feedback to see what they have bought in the past because i am bored and obviously don't have enough to do with the 2 kids, house, 3 dogs, and 4 cats...lol!.

  this one guy who is bidding on one of my auctions has purchased at least 10 of the old purple jw kingdom interlinears.. are they really that interesting?

  is he one us us spreading the real truth or is he a jw buying back old light?.

  Kid A - You are so funny. The guy sells audio equipment on Ebay as well as purchasing Kingdom Interlinears. I only went through 1 page of his feedbacks, I just thought...what a wierdo!

  Carla - I do okay on ebay. It helps declutter the house, and make more money for new clutter...LOL...but mainly I sell fabric, and quilting stuff which is not a big money maker but enjoyable to me.

  I don't know...besides the date when it was published. I suppose there were probably changes made besides the cover from purple to blue.

  I find this JW behaviour disrespectful

  on saturday i was at a cousin's wedding.

  neither bride or groom was jw, although her mother (my aunt) was jw but was df'd for smoking way back in the early '70's and i doubt the bride (my cousin) remembers anything anymore.. her older brother said a prayer before the dinner.

  it was a very beautiful prayer imho, and maybe he remembers a bit more of the jw experience, it started and ended like what you'd hear in a kh, but the middle was actually said from the heart and filled with love for the new couple and our family and the friends present.. i bowed my head and said amen afterwards.

  If your family members were Atheists would you be this upset?

  I am not nor have I ever been a JW. I am married to one who is fading. My husband has given me all kinds of scriptures about prayer. I am having sort of a religious crisis about do I believe in God or not...its very disconcerting to me to feel as though I don't believe in God because I always have.

  I have stopped praying and participating in prayer. My son goes to a Christian school and there was a function where there was prayer before and after. I was quiet, I kept my eyes open but looked down in my lap, I noticed someone else looking at me....big deal...It's my choice if I do or don't care to participate. I did the same thing when I went to the KH with my husband.

  I suppose I am just as rude as your mother.

  Seriously though, don't you have any bigger problems than worrying about your mother not participating in prayer?

  Keep your own side of the street clean and watch how you behave.

  At our old KH the PO said the Jews deserved to be killed in the holocaust because they thought they were God's chosen people, but they were wrong because JW's were God's chosen people.

  I got up and walked out feeling really sick.

  what really gets on my nerves is the snotty dubs, the ones that think nothing is above them and that everyone somehow is in debt to them.. example 1) i was whispering to a friend, she said (40 year old this was lol) "you can't have secrets in the kingdom hall, what were you whispering about please" - i said to my friend lets go outside, then she starting giving us dirty looks ?!?!?!

  example 2) a kingdom ministry item said, move around the hall and sit with different people.

  spend time to get to know each other, so i did!

  I always like it when the JW's who didn't even graduate high school tell me that I am being stupid and filled with pride because I don't agree with the "truth" being the "truth."

  or

  When I have been mocked for having a college education opposed to their WTS education.

  or

  When my husband was talked down to by a stupid sister because he didn't choose to use his zeal for foreign languages to help the organization and he is wasting his life with his home and family when this system of things is obviously in the end times.

  But then again, I have seen this same snotty behavior from some of the people at my parents Born Again Bible Thumper Church....

  Anyone like me....

  not feeling like there life's been affected that negatively by their involvement with jw's?.

  i ask because while i do believe being raised a jehovahs witness has probably done me some considerable emotional damage, i still can't imagaine it hurt me anymore (and in a lot of cases i'm sure it did far less damage) than the average non jw upbringing.

  i had no debilitating diseases, no broken family, kind and loving parents etc...you get my point though?.

  Your post sounds like it could be written by my husband...although he and his family have had bad things happen to them because they are/were JW's. He feels mostly he did better than some of his non-jw friends growing up.

  Are most JW`s deeply unhappy?

  its not until you are out of the religion that you notice how unhappy a lot of witnesses are.

  through family i still have contact with quite a few and hear of stories of whats going on.

  i am like a different person now i am out.

  My husband and I were talking about this yesterday. He was telling me that when he was younger, everyone was happy and had zeal. Lots of parties and get togethers.

  Now everyone we know who is a Jehovahs Witness is depressed and just grumpy. Nobody is happy. And if you are happy, they don't want to be around you because they are jealous or discouraged by your unattainable happiness.

  Where are Jehovahs Happy People?
